Partnered with a job platform founder during the pre-seed stage, where capital, team structure, and early go-to-market decisions were all in flux. I helped identify and secure grant funding opportunities that had not been previously explored, bringing in non-dilutive capital at a critical point. Supported development of pitch materials to help the founder clearly communicate the vision and opportunity. Worked with the founder to make their first hire, introducing the function of partnerships and helping define the role, expectations, and value of that channel early on. At the same time, I helped rethink how the team was being compensated to avoid unnecessary equity dilution, introducing alternative approaches and clearer accountability. I also brought more structure to how work was tracked and executed across the team. This gave the company more financial flexibility and a stronger foundation across hiring, partnerships, and execution.

I helped define a more structured onboarding process, including clearer handoffs, expectations, and documentation. This reduced back-and-forth across teams and improved the overall client experience. We also aligned internal stakeholders so ownership was clear at each stage, and created playbooks that were repeatable at scale. As a result, onboarding became more predictable and easier to scale as new clients were added.

Created hiring plans and scorecards to support consistent, high-quality hiring as the team expanded. Led onboarding efforts for instructors, including developing scripts, expectations, and documentation to ensure a consistent experience across a distributed team. Built internal playbooks and a centralized documentation system so knowledge could be maintained and easily accessed as the company grew. Also introduced systems for interns to self-direct on daily priorities, reducing dependency on the CEO and freeing up leadership time. Supported goal setting across the team to create clearer alignment and accountability.
